DescriptionAbout the roleBaker & McKenzie.Wong & Leow is looking for a Paralegal to assist the lawyers on a wide range of patent and trademark matters within our Intellectual Property practice group.Patent ProsecutionConduct prior art and patentability searches.Prepare, file, and prosecute patent applications through to grant.Coordinate filings in other jurisdictions.Calculate, docket, and track deadlines.Review specifications and official communications, including search and examination reports.Assist with patent due diligence exercises.Communicate and advise clients on patent laws, procedures, and strategies.Prepare fee estimates and client correspondence.Trademark Portfolio ManagementPrepare cost estimates and conduct trademark searches.File new applications in Singapore and international applications under the Madrid Protocol, including drafting specifications.Advise clients on strategies, office actions, and available courses of action.Draft submissions and handle legal-related queries.Coordinate global trademark filings.Additional ResponsibilitiesAssist with recordal projects, opposition matters, IP due diligence exercises, and business development activities.Ensure accurate time entry and billing.About The CandidateEducated to degree level or equivalent qualification/experience, or Diploma in Law.Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.Ability to effectively manage competing priorities.Self-starter with a proactive and positive attitude toward work.Comfortable working across multiple cultures and time zones.Strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and team spirit.High degree of attention to detail and excellent project management skills.Contributes to the effective functioning of the team.About UsAt Baker McKenzie we are different in the way we think, work and behave.
