Wachler & Associates, PC is a nationally recognized boutique healthcare law firm representing a wide variety of healthcare providers and suppliers.  While located in Royal Oak, Michigan, we represent healthcare clients on a nationwide basis, from Alaska to New York and everywhere in between, and we have done so for over three decades.Job Description:We are looking for a healthcare Paralegal with a minimum of three years’ experience working in a law firm to join our team on a full-time basis. Experience with medical malpractice or no-fault matters preferred. Experience with administrative or regulatory law is a plus. This position is in person / in office. This position requires a highly motivated and energetic person with a high degree of accuracy, excellent grammar, proofreading and organizational skills. Candidate should have the ability to arrange workload in order of importance, as well as a willingness to undertake additional responsibilities and assist others when needed. The ideal candidate will be a problem solver with a professional demeanor, outstanding communication skills and meticulous attention to detail.Qualifications:·      3+ years of experience as a Paralegal in a law firm·      Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)·      Proficiency with Smokeball or similar case management software·      Superior organizational skills·      Experience with time-based billing·      Able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment·      Keen attention to details·      Calendar and deadline management skills ·      Excellent verbal and written communication skills·      Effective problem-solving abilities·      Collaborates and cooperates with other staff members·      Proactive attitude toward workRoles & Responsibilities:·      Consistent maintenance of case file within document management system, including attention to incoming documents, emails, etc. ·      Coordinate scheduling and extensive calendar management.·      Review, organize, and summarize medical records and other documents received from clients.·      Request documents from clients.·      Assist in document management; draft, proof, format, and edit correspondence, memos, briefs, medical record summaries, forms, engagement letters; conduct document assembly in proper legal form; file legal documents with appropriate attachments, both electronically and via traditional filing methods.·      Proofread and edit documents to ensure accuracy and professional appearance.·      Maintain attorney calendars and deadline reminders, including but not limited to appointments and follow-up dates.·      Answer telephone calls in a courteous and professional manner; forwards messages to the intended parties; answers non-legal questions. Places phone calls as needed or requested.·      Arrange for the proper delivery of documents/projects via Federal Express, UPS, Express Mail, courier runs, hand-deliveries, etc.·      Consistently enter and proofread time entries in the billing system.·      Attend staff meetings, training sessions and other required employee meetings.·      Typing, dictation, copying, scanning, faxing and any other general office duties as needed.·      Maintain confidentiality in all firm and client matters and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.·      Assist with other firm work as directed by attorney or senior paralegal.
