The Park Manager I position resides within the Infrastructure ManagementDivision of the Pima County Regional Flood Control District (District). This position will oversee the management of one or more naturalresources parks under the Districts Land Stewardship Program. The primary duties will include regular inspections of the park(s),scheduling of maintenance and repairs, and responding to inquiries fromthe public, external organizations, and local, state, and federalpartners. This role will ensure that work complies with the Districtsgoals for managing floodprone lands and supports the vision of theFloodplain Management Plan, Sonoran Desert Conservation Plan, andMulti-species Conservation Plan.

Responsibilities cover a range of activities related to natural andcultural resources protection including overseeing infrastructure andland stewardship projects, trails development, infrastructure inventory,public outreach and event support, permitting public use and events, andvolunteer training and supervision. Administrative work will includedata management and use of geospatial tools, preparation of inspectionreports, and coordination with internal County departments as well asexternal partners. Manages and supervises the daily operations and maintenance of anassigned County Natural Resource Park(s), to include inspections,scheduling of maintenance and repairs and associated documentationof activities; Develops and administers annual budgets for park operations,maintenance and support; Implements plans and projects for the development, interpretation,preservation, protection and enhancement of natural, cultural andhistorical resources in the park; Assesses conditions of natural, cultural and historical resources inassigned areas, impact of users, and means to mitigate adverseimpact on these resources; Assists in the preparation of environmental assessments, impactstatements and related reports relative to the park to county, stateand federal agencies; Coordinates within the department and other agencies theidentification and protection of threatened and endangered naturaland cultural resources and species; Supervises, trains, schedules and evaluates employees andvolunteers; Responds to inquiries from the public and private/publicorganizations and local, state and federal agencies on parks andresource utilization, operations, interpretation, preservation andmaintenance; Coordinates the public use of park grounds and facilities withappropriate Department and other agencies; Serves a s Departmental/County liaison with Arizona State Game andFish Department and like County, state and federal agencies forprotection of park natural, cultural and historical resources; Represents the Department at meetings and on technical committeesfor natural resource management research; Researches and submits routine, recurring and special activity andproject reports to management.
