Ensures that reformatted materials are available in a timely manner in compliance with federal, state and local regulations. Supports the alternative formats team by organizing workflows and preparing materials for remediation. This work may be performed in an environment in which technical supervision is not available and the incumbent is the primary source for technical information. Incumbent may be involved in training and guiding student or casual help and/or reviewing their work. Work is mostly performed at a home office, with occasional work at the Sylvania campus. This is a temporary position, with an end date of December 31st, 2026.Typical Duties And ResponsibilitiesConverts printed, digital, video or multimedia material and specially encrypted publisher files into a variety of alternative media formats; Ensures students can access materials in a timely manner;Trains students, faculty, and staff in the use of alternative media format systems;Develops, implements, evaluates, reviews and revises alternate media formats as necessary for ADA compliance;Accesses and updates electronic records;Supports others in related roles by organizing workflows and preparing materials for remediation;Performs other related duties as assigned. Work Environment And Physical RequirementsWork is performed primarily at the Sylvania campus. May work at other campus locations as needed. Exposure to video display terminals occurs with high frequency. Prolonged sitting may be required. Ability to operate a keyboard or other peripherals as needed.Knowledge OfKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesCreating captions for video using captioning tools such as Sonix, Tero Subtitler, Amara, Kaltura, and others;Document remediation of formats including PDF, Word, PowerPoint, and Google Suite with tools such as ABBYY, Grackle, Adobe Pro, and others;Tools for communication and organizing workflows (we are a Google School);Navigating and updating information in a Learning Management System (we use Brightspace).Skills InOrganizing and keeping records;Being detail oriented;Communicate with coworkers, students, the public, and college staff members with tact and diplomacy;Effectively communicating technical and complex information both in writing and verbally;Analyzing and resolving problems with minimal supervision. Ability ToLearn new computer systems as advances in technology are made;Remain calm under high pressure situations;Work with multiple priorities in a fast-paced and changing environment.Minimum QualificationsTo be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).\High school diploma and two years of college-level course work.
