Description About Us: The Lundquist Institute for Biomedical Innovation at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center is a leading nonprofit biomedical research organization located in Torrance, California. Through strong collaborations with community partners, CTSI, and the CIRM Alpha Clinic Network, we translate discoveries into real-world health solutions, improving outcomes for underserved populations and advancing equitable access to innovative treatments.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in health sciences, social work, community health, or related field preferredOne to three years’ experience in patient navigation, clinical trial support, community health, or patient advocacyExperience working with diverse populations, rare diseases, or clinical trial participants preferredBilingual in English and SpanishKnowledge/Skills/AbilitiesKnowledge and understanding of research ethics, patient confidentiality, and human subjects’ protection principlesDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and clinical/research teams from diverse backgroundsAbility to foster trust and build relationships with patients, community members, and partnersDemonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity in supporting underserved populationsAbility to manage multiple cases under deadlines while maintaining accuracy and empathyAbility to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary teamAbility to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced clinical/research environmentProficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health record/navigation systems preferredAbility to travel occasionally for patient accompaniment or community eventsDemonstrated cooperative behavior and positive problem-solving skillsAvailable to work dependable, flexible shiftBasic Duties And Responsibilities Or Purpose Of PositionSupport patients and families in clinical trial enrollment, screening, and participation in SoLA-CCERM regenerative medicine trials Communicate effectively with patients to understand perspectives, address barriers, and provide education on trials and processesAccompany patients to study visits at Lundquist-Harbor CTRC and coordinate transfers/referrals to UCLA Health Alpha Clinic as neededCoordinate with disease-specific experts, Harbor physicians, and the CIRM Patient Support Program to facilitate seamless careReceive training from physician experts and patient advocacy groups to enhance support capabilitiesAssist in collecting patient feedback and metrics for program evaluationServe as liaison between patients, clinical teams, and community partnersContributes to the overall success of the SoLA-CCERM program by performing all other duties as assigned.Please ensure your application is complete and signed; incomplete submissions will not be considered.Position requires a background check and health clearanceEqual Opportunity Employer/Affirmative Action/Drug-Free Workplace
