This position involves managing the day-to-day operations of the Time and Labor system, primarily supporting the University Health (UH) Time and Labor Module. The specialist is responsible for maintaining seamless data flow between interfacing systems, ensuring employee hours are processed correctly, and applying HR pay rules accurately. The role requires close coordination with HR, payroll, IT, and external vendors to facilitate system testing, implementation of updates, and troubleshooting. Additionally, the specialist provides training and support to timekeepers and approvers, ensuring they are well-versed in system functionalities and procedures. They are also tasked with generating reports, analyzing trends, conducting audits, and supporting compliance reviews and special projects within the department. The position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the organization’s operational efficiency and uphold the highest standards of data accuracy and system integrity.QualificationsThe ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Management, Human Resources, or a related field. A minimum of four years of professional experience in payroll or human resources is strongly preferred, demonstrating a solid understanding of payroll systems and HR processes. Prior experience working with Kronos or similar workforce management systems in a healthcare setting is highly desirable. Candidates should have proven experience in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures and staff training materials. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues are essential. Excellent communication skills are required to effectively liaise with various stakeholders, including vendors, HR, and payroll teams. Familiarity with compliance standards and experience supporting system upgrades or version changes will be considered an advantage.ResponsibilitiesThe primary responsibilities include supporting the UH Time and Labor Module to ensure accurate processing of employee hours and adherence to HR pay rules. The specialist will oversee the system’s active processing, test and implement system fixes, and coordinate version updates in collaboration with the software vendor. They will communicate changes and updates to timekeepers and approvers, providing necessary training and support. The role involves managing interface systems to ensure data consistency, troubleshooting issues as they arise, and performing routine audits to validate data accuracy. Generating reports, dashboards, and analyzing trends to inform management decisions are key components of the role. The specialist will also support pay period end processing, system maintenance, and compliance reviews. Additionally, they will participate in special projects aimed at improving system functionality and operational efficiency.
