Role: Payroll AnalystDuration: 2-3 month contractLocation: Downtown Los Angeles - onsite one day per weekSummary:The Payroll Analyst supports the payroll function by owning the general ledger (GL) component of payroll and benefits, including journal entries, reconciliations, and cost allocations across multiple cost centers and funding sources. This position is responsible for ensuring Paylocity information is accurately imported into NetSuite. The Payroll Analyst role works closely with the Senior Payroll Manager to process payroll and ensure timely, accurate, and compliant payroll operations. This position will also work closely with the Grants & Fund Administration and Compliance team to ensure labor cost are allocated properly.Responsibilities:Ensure timely and accurate posting of Payroll and Benefit related transactionsDevelop and monitor cost allocation plans and labor distribution allocations for grant and fund accountsReview and monitor grant account charges to ensure compliance with the terms of various grant contracts and raise issues affecting compliance and/or progressCoordinate the correction of account balances, resolve funding issues, and maintain proper accounting controls and proceduresSupport processing 800+ electronic timecards and related payroll documentation on a bi-weekly basis ensuring accuracy and complianceAudit and review timesheets for accuracy regarding meal breaks, overtime rules etc.Assist with processing payroll checks, terminations and payroll reports for projectsQualifications:A minimum of 4 years of experience in an accounting role, including payroll and the month end close processBachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent experiencePayroll and Payroll GL experiencePaylocity and NetSuite experience a mustExperience working with multiple cost centers and project codesExcellent client service, communication, interpersonal skills and professional demeanor in communicating with staff, partners and vendors
