So what does a Payroll Manager do? You will be in charge of processing payroll from start to finish in compliance with local regulation for multiple sites or entities as well as being the lead sponsor for projects related to Payroll as needed As a Payroll Manager, you will:Manage start to end process for PayrollOversee and ensure Statutory/Social Insurance and tax compliance in local countryLead and assist with internal and external audit requirementsManage a team of Payroll Analyst & SpecialistMaintain standardization of payroll data in alignment with Global ProceduresMaintain payroll system updates and advice on new system applications or improvements required.The Payroll Manager position covers the following responsibilities, but not limited to:Complete Payroll process evaluation and recommendations for improvementProvide managerial support and guidance for payroll activitiesManage payroll and timekeeping systemsMaintain partnerships with various vendors for payroll, timekeeping, garnishments, and governmental agencies.Solid understanding of employment law, regulatory and legal compliance to address notifications and provide guidance to team of payroll specialistCompletes Payroll reconciliations and designs new reports as neededDemonstrate positive team performanceEnsure that process service levels are met in accordance with set standardsEnsures that all internal risk and control guidelines are met and executed in every processResponsible for direct report training programsSubject matter expert with the ability to apply knowledge of the business to solve strategic payroll issuesAssist in preparation of corporate budgets and annual estimates for salaries and payroll taxesDevelops resolutions to complex problems that require the frequent use of creativityResponsible for hiring, determining staffing levels and resource allocation for the Payroll teamPartner with process peers in Human Resources, Benefits, Finance, Accounting, Treasury, Legal, Labor Relations, Corporate Taxes, and related third party vendors to resolve employee questions/issuesProvide key support to the Finance and Accounting groupFluency with HR policies pertaining to payroll such as overtime, leave, benefits, employee compensation, health and welfare, and retirement benefit administrationCoach and develop payroll teamConduct meetings with different level contacts and departments as needed.Manage relation with local Payroll Vendor, bank representative for Payroll Bank account services and government authoritiesParticipate in projects as neededDo you have what it takes to become a Payroll Manager?Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis on business or accounting preferredExperience with computerized payroll processingExperience with Payroll Vendor management and Workday HR/Payroll systems a plusMicrosoft Excel and WordMust be detailed orientedAble to meet deadlinesBi-lingual speaker (English and Japanese)Experienced with payroll and other finance functions and/or HR Total Rewards is a plusKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Outstanding customer serviceExcellent written and verbal communication.
