Minimum qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.7 years of experience as an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist providing consultations to the business on topics such as performance management, workplace concerns, etc.Ability to communicate in English fluently to work with internal and external stakeholders.Preferred qualifications:Experience with cross-functional collaboration and influence.Experience in HR, people programs, or other large-scale people related roles.Experience coaching and mentoring others.Ability to analyze data, understand trends and develop recommendations for action based on the analysis.Ability to communicate in French fluently to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.About The JobPeople Operations strives to revolutionize human resources the same way that Google has revolutionized search. They manage global HR processes, adapting to regional nuances for millions of candidates and over 175,000 employees.Comprising HR professionals, consultants, and analysts, the POps team Google's culture and values, partnering with business leaders to build organizations and ensure data-driven people decisions.As Google expands, it faces increasing operational complexities, compliance risks, and cultural differences across regions. To address this, HR teams employ a structured, location-based approach for support.As a People Consultant, you will directly assist Googlers across Canada, their People Managers, People Partners, and other POps teams. You will provide personalized guidance, support, and solutions for a wide range of People Operations activities, demanding local HR expertise and a deep understanding of multiple organizations and specialties.Great just isn't good enough for our People Operations team (known elsewhere as "Human Resources"). Whether recruiting the next Googler, refining our core programs, developing talent, or simply looking for ways to inject some more fun into the lives of our Googlers, we bring a data-driven approach that is reinventing the human resources field.ResponsibilitiesDeliver dynamic HR consultations aligned with People Operations’ Services, focusing on performance enablement, team/manager/leader effectiveness, complex accommodations, people management dynamics and navigating transitions.Provide strategic HR partnership, coaching, and advisory services to Canada-based Googlers and their People Managers at all levels, across all business units, using a consultative approach to deliver risk-balanced, creative, and empathetic solutions for ambiguous people issues.Leverage consultation data to actively surface trends and identify, recommend, and advance long-term, scalable, and simplified solutions to drive continuous improvements in people processes.Identify key stakeholders to build networks and contribute to cross-team collaboration.Develop comprehensive knowledge of Google-wide HR policies, local/market legal and regulatory knowledge, and the POps’ Menu of Services to effectively service Googlers and managers and leaders.Google is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer.
