This is an incredible opportunity to work alongside military healthcare professionals in a dynamic and rewarding environment, providing top-tier medical care to an active and motivated population of military personnel.As a Physician Assistant, you will play a key role in the health and wellness of Canada’s military members. You’ll have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of healthcare experts, including physicians, nurses, mental health specialists, and pharmacists, all focused on delivering exceptional care. Every day brings new and exciting challenges as you assess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of health conditions, ensuring that our Armed Forces are ready and fit for duty.ResponsibilitiesPeriodic Health Assessments and perform routine medical screeningsObtain medical/incident history; perform focused and comprehensive physical examinations,Obtain and interpret routine diagnostic tests (such as CBC, chest x-ray and EKG)Apply rapid intervention in the case of trauma and cardiac emergenciesProvide health promotion and illness prevention in the areas of basic public, occupational, mental and community healthPractice as a member of an interdisciplinary team and consults with members of other health professions as appropriate to ensure the healthcare needs of the patient are metProvide appropriate teaching and instructions to patientsQualificationsMust be a graduate of a Physician Assistant program recognized by the Physician Assistant Certification Council of Canada (PACCC).Certified by the Physician Assistant Certification Council of Canada (PACCC) through the Canadian Association of Physician Assistants (CAPA)Current membership in good standing with CAPABasic Life Support for Health Providers or CPR/AED Level C CertificationAdditional RequirementsYou will be able to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Reliability levelSecurity clearancesA security clearance and/or vulnerable sector screening might be required for this position.
