Position: Plant ManagerIndustry: FMCGLocation: 6th of October, GizaPurpose of the RoleThe Plant Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of manufacturing, maintenance, packaging, and QHSE functions at the Egypt Plant. This role ensures safe, efficient, and cost-effective production of high-quality products while driving operational excellence, continuous improvement, and compliance with regulatory, quality, and environmental standards. The Plant Manager oversees multiple teams, ensures alignment across functions, and fosters a high-performance culture.Key Accountabilities1. Manufacturing & Production OversightLead and manage all manufacturing and packaging operations to meet production targets, quality standards, and delivery timelines.Develop and implement production plans and schedules aligned with customer demand and inventory requirements.Optimize resource allocation (materials, labor, machinery) to maximize plant throughput and efficiency.Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.Monitor production KPIs, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to improve line efficiency, reduce waste, and minimize downtime.2. Maintenance ManagementOversee preventive and corrective maintenance for mechanical, electrical, and packaging equipment to ensure uninterrupted operations.Develop maintenance schedules, monitor performance, and implement reliability improvement initiatives.Ensure effective spare parts planning and availability to minimize production disruptions.Lead the maintenance team, providing technical guidance and fostering skill development.3. QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety & Environment)Lead the development of a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company and regulatory safety standards.Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations; ensure corrective actions are implemented timely.Ensure adherence to quality standards (GMP, ISO, HACCP) and environmental regulations.Collaborate with the QHSE Associate Manager to train staff on safety, quality, and environmental responsibilities.4. People Leadership & DevelopmentLead, mentor, and develop cross-functional teams including production, maintenance, packaging, and QHSE personnel.Conduct performance evaluations, identify training needs, and implement succession plans for key roles.Foster collaboration across departments to drive efficiency, accountability, and a high-performance culture.5. Operational Excellence & Continuous ImprovementTrack, monitor, and report on plant KPIs, including production efficiency, quality, safety, and sustainability metrics.Implement process improvements to reduce production costs, optimize utilities consumption, and enhance product quality.Standardize operational procedures (SOPs) and ensure compliance across all functions.6. Financial & Resource ManagementManage plant budgets, control operating expenses, and drive cost optimization initiatives.Ensure effective resource utilization, including manpower, materials, and energy consumption.Support capital expenditure projects and ROI assessment for plant improvement initiatives.RequirementsExperience:Minimum 15 years in manufacturing operations, preferably within the beverage, dairy, or FMCG industry.At least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing production, maintenance, packaging, and QHSE functions.Knowledge & Skills:Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing, packaging, and maintenance operations.Deep understanding of quality, safety, and environmental compliance requirements.Proficiency in ERP systems and production management tools.Leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to manage large cross-functional teams.Ability to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Food Technology Engineering (or related field).Advanced certifications in Operations Management, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma are preferred.Competencies RequiredStrategic thinking and business acumen.Results-driven with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.Leadership and people development capabilities.Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.Adaptability, resilience, and ability to manage multiple priorities.Analytical mindset and data-driven approach to operational decisions.Role Positioning within Operating ModelStrategic Direction: Define plant-level operational strategy aligned with business goals, drive continuous improvement, and optimize resources.Operational Leadership: Lead production, maintenance, packaging, and QHSE functions to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality operations.Administrative Execution: Manage plant budgets, reporting, regulatory compliance, and workforce planning.Functional Support: Provide guidance, technical support, and mentoring to cross-functional teams; collaborate with corporate Supply Chain, Quality, and R&D functions.
