The RoleAMD is looking for a highly talented engineer to join our Datacenter Solution Engineering team as an overall expert in Server system debug. System Debug Engineer will work closely with our customers who are developing AMD EPYC based systems.The PersonThis engineer will work with validation and our customers during critical issue escalations and help get issues resolved in time to meet product development or sustaining milestones. Opportunity to learn IP and server related feature as well as functionality through post-silicon customer issue debug.Key ResponsibilitiesDebugging Server systems with an emphasis on system and platform level.Providing root cause analysis and guidance to internal and customer design teams to help close issues.Support project independently and handle all issues to co-work with internal and external team well.A self-starter required and able to deal with a high level of ambiguity.Proficient in utilizing programming tools, software and hardware debuggers.A thorough understanding of Server industry standard busses, such as DDR, PCIe, NVMe, CXL, and other high-speed IO protocol is an added advantage in addition to detailed knowledge of high-speed digital design and signal integrity.Additional qualifications include understanding in BIOS/firmware, operating system and driver interactions at the system level, along with a strong grasp of x86 CPU architecture and functionality.Preferred ExperienceThe ideal candidate has internship or worked at computer hardware company as a design or debug engineer.Understanding product development lifecycle, through bring-up and validation till product release to production.Strong knowledge of x86 platform architectures.Experienced in using debug tools such as JTAG debuggers, logic analyzers, DDR interposer, USB, and PCIe bus analyzers.Excellent communication skills are required in the role of supporting customers.Academic CredentialsBachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical/Electronic engineering, Computer engineering, or comparable disciplines.LOCATION:Penang, MalaysiaBenefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.AMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services.
