Our engineers design, develop and integrate solutions that impact global industries – from fully operational systems and subsystems for naval warfare and maritime security operations, to air traffic management systems, satellite-based solutions, tactical indoor simulations, identity and biometric technologies and more.About The ProjectWithin the Engineering cluster, the Naval business unit is collaborating within the Thales group on the development of combat and information management systems for navy ships, integration with sensors and weapon systems as well as the development of sensor processing applications. These complex systems contain advanced solutions for information processing, information management and the user interaction with both sensor and weapon systems. Our product, called TACTICOS, offers essential support for combat missions varying from anti-piracy to ballistic missile defense.About The JobAs a Platform Software Architect, you will be working in a multidisciplinary Agile team. This team, along with other teams in the infrastructure group, develop and test the infrastructure platform for the combat management system. The development teams are responsible for the entire development chain, from requirements analysis, design, development, integration, testing, validation and demonstrating the current status of the product. The infrastructure we are currently developing will be the foundation for our products for the next 30 years on a navy ship. Your tasks include:Together with the lead architect and the team of architects from the other scrum teams, you determine the technical vision and solutionsDesign robust software architecture for the issues you will solve within your scrum teamLead, coach and technically manage a team of agile platform developersImprove software development processes to a higher standardTranslating requirements into functional solutionsEvaluate and implement new technologies to integrate into and improve our productsEnsure consistent compliance with best practices and coding standardsCollaborate with stakeholders to understand and translate technical requirementsYou are an experienced architect who enjoys specifying and designing IT infrastructure components and systems. You enjoy personal development, both in hard skills and human skills. Your relevant hands-on past experience includes:System / Software architect (5 years)Linux System (5 years, preferably RHEL distribution)Ansible automation engine (3 years)Cloud Native technologies (5 years)Network knowledge (3 years, CCNA/CCIP level)Experience with a number of the following tools and technologies: git, GitLab, Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence.You hold a bachelor or master degree in computer science, IT service management or comparable.
