Job Description

This is a volunteer position within the "Last Week in Denmark" media project team. Specifically, it refers to the position of podcast manager or team leader of the weekly podcast "Last Week in Denmark". Time needed per week: On average, you need around six hours per week. The weekly podcast "Last Week in Denmark" is already on its fourth season, and we are looking for a team leader that can join the team from mid-November to prepare our fifth season in the spring of 2026. OverviewLast Week in Denmark is a weekly current affairs podcast that shares stories and perspectives on life in Denmark. We’re seeking a Podcast Manager to oversee the full production workflow—from topic coordination to publication—ensuring consistency, accuracy, and timeliness across all platforms.This role is ideal for someone who loves organizing creative teams, managing editorial calendars, and turning complex processes into a smooth, repeatable system.Key ResponsibilitiesProduction OversightManage the full episode lifecycle: preparation, recording, editing, publishing, and post-release updates.Maintain the episode tracker and shared Drive organization system.Coordinate tasks among team members (hosts, editors, transcript editors, video team, and admins).Ensure episodes are published on schedule (Wednesdays at 5 a.m.) and follow the established weekly workflow.Team & CommunicationLead regular communication with cohosts, editors, and volunteers to keep episodes on track.Provide clear task updates and reminders for each production stage.Troubleshoot workflow issues and propose process improvements.Platform & Technical ManagementOversee Buzzsprout uploads, metadata (chapters, tags, seasons, guests), and show notes.Ensure transcripts are generated, edited, and properly linked.Supervise YouTube publication steps, including video uploads, thumbnails, playlists, timestamps, and pinned comments.Verify that episodes and clips are properly scheduled in Opus and cross-promoted.Quality Control & DocumentationCheck for consistency in episode titles, tags, and descriptions across platforms.Maintain updated production documentation and ensure that new team members can onboard easily.Review each episode’s final assets before publishing (audio, visuals, and text).Skills & ExperienceStrong project management and communication skills.Familiarity with podcasting tools (Buzzsprout, YouTube Studio, or similar).Experience coordinating a small creative team.Excellent attention to detail and time management.Comfortable using shared systems like Google Drive, Opus Clips, and AI transcription tools (training available).What You’ll GainHands-on leadership experience managing a full media production cycle.Opportunities to collaborate with an international, community-driven media team.Insight into podcast discoverability, publishing systems, and cross-platform workflows.Recognition in show credits and potential for long-term creative involvement.
