Role Description The Policy Analyst is responsible for conducting research, evaluating data, and developing evidence-based insights that inform policy recommendations, organizational strategies, or regulatory positions. This role involves analyzing complex issues, monitoring legislative or industry developments, and preparing reports, briefs, and presentations that help decision-makers understand implications, risks, and opportunities. The Policy Analyst works closely with internal teams, external stakeholders, and subject-matter experts to assess existing policies, identify gaps, and propose improvements aligned with strategic goals.Core responsibilities include reviewing legislation, regulatory changes, or industry standards; conducting qualitative and quantitative research; and synthesizing findings into clear, actionable policy analyses. The Policy Analyst prepares policy papers, impact assessments, stakeholder summaries, and briefing documents that support leadership or program teams in evaluating options and making informed decisions. The role may also involve drafting recommendations, participating in consultations, supporting program evaluations, and analyzing the potential outcomes of policy changes.The Policy Analyst helps build and maintain research frameworks, databases, and tracking systems to monitor trends or emerging issues. The role requires strong critical thinking, structured analysis, and the ability to communicate complex information in a concise and accessible manner.
