Postdoc in Polymer Technology

Job DescriptionDivision of Polymer Technology is looking for a postdoc interested in sustainable and circular polymer materials with low environmental impact. The announced position focuses on the characterization, biodegradation testing and mechanical recycling of modified polylactide materials produced during EIC Pathfinder Challenge project “Biobased thermal resistant food packaging” (BORN). As overall challenging objective the project targets to design materials that will be biobased, biodegradable, compostable, recyclable and suitable for food contact applications.The work tasks includeLaboratory work with spectroscopic and chromatographic characterization of modified PLA materials.Testing the biodegradability of the materials in selected environments.Evaluation of mechanical recyclability of the materials.Evaluation and dissemination of the results in the form of scientific publications.Participation in online and in person project meetings and reporting of results.QualificationsRequirementsA doctoral degree in relevant subject or an equivalent foreign degree.
