Position OverviewThe PR & Marketing Head is responsible for shaping, promoting, and protecting the public image of Design Commission Abu Dhabi (DCAD). This role leads all communications, media relations, marketing strategy, and brand positioning efforts to elevate Abu Dhabi as a global design and creative industries hub. The position collaborates across government, cultural institutions, media, and strategic partners to ensure consistent, world-class storytelling that reflects the innovation and cultural identity of the emirate.Key Responsibilities1. Strategic Leadership & PlanningDevelop and execute a comprehensive PR, marketing, and communications strategy aligned with DCAD’s mission and priorities.Establish and safeguard the brand identity and narrative of Design Commission Abu Dhabi.Lead annual marketing planning, budgeting, and campaign roadmaps.2. Public Relations & MediaOversee media relations, press releases, interviews, and executive briefings.Build and maintain relationships with UAE and international media outlets.Manage crisis communications and reputational risk with confidentiality and strategic judgment.Prepare executive speeches, talking points, and key messages.3. Marketing & Brand ManagementLead integrated marketing campaigns for programs, exhibitions, and partnerships.Manage visual identity, brand guidelines, and all communication standards.Oversee content strategy across digital channels, publications, and marketing collateral.Supervise production of brochures, videos, social content, presentations, and reports.4. Digital & Social Media StrategyDevelop the Commission’s digital presence with global-standard storytelling.Manage content calendars, engagement strategies, and analytics.Apply data insights to improve audience reach and campaign performance.5. Partnerships & Stakeholder EngagementCollaborate with government entities, cultural organizations, and global design partners.Support initiatives that position Abu Dhabi as a leading global design capital.Represent DCAD in key meetings, forums, and industry events.6. Event Communications & LaunchesLead PR and communication strategies for major exhibitions, festivals, and public programs.Coordinate event branding, media coverage, and partner amplification.Ensure unified messaging across all event materials.7. Team Leadership & OperationsBuild and manage a high-performing PR and marketing team.Develop workflows, best practices, and performance standards.Manage external agencies, creative vendors, and production partners.Minimum Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, PR, Design, or related field (Master’s preferred).8–12+ years of progressive experience in PR, marketing, or communications.Experience within government, culture, design, or creative industries preferred.Strong understanding of UAE media, cultural sectors, and communications protocols.Proven experience in brand development and integrated marketing campaigns.Excellent English and Arabic writing skills (Arabic strongly preferred).Ability to manage multi-stakeholder environments with high professionalism.Core CompetenciesExecutive presence and stakeholder influenceStrategic and creative thinkingStrong communication and storytellingCrisis management and media handlingProject leadership and multitaskingCultural awareness and alignment with UAE valuesHigh attention to detail and brand integrity
