RequirementsN/AJob DescriptionComments From This Job AnnouncementSummaryThe purpose of this position is to perform work in combined roles as a staff nurse, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed and supervised under the Public Health Nurse Supervisor. Essential Functions And Responsibilities IncludeProvide medical, clinical, educational support and referral services. Perform assessment and counseling regarding need for immunizations for infants, children and adults; administer required immunizations, tuberculin skin tests, flu vaccine, foreign travel vaccines and other.
Provide early detection and identification of abnormal or existing chronic illnesses through interview, blood pressure screening, cholesterol screenings and A1C checks. Perform medical screenings and testing. Dispense medication under existing standing orders. Share work assignments of Medical Office Assistant/LPN to provide quality services delivered to the employees of Cleveland County government. Serve as a liaison with a physician extender(s), physician, local hospital, physician's offices, and/or other community programs to provide the client with a nursing care plan. Assure appropriate lab work is drawn, as written by the practitioner, using the appropriate procedure and proper devices.
Assures that the practitioner ordering the tests receives the results in a timely fashion and that the results are placed on the correct medical record. Review lab billing and follow up on abnormalities. Assist in ordering medications, medical, lab and office supplies. Assist with clinic audits. Blood borne pathogen and OSHA educator for new hire county employees and recertification's for current employees. Education & ExperienceGraduation from a State accredited program of practical nurse education and one year of practical nurse experience. or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
