As a Pre-Development Program Optics Engineer, you will work at the cutting edge of EUV source systems, transforming innovative ideas into solutions that keep Moore’s Law alive. Your work will directly impact next-generation lithography and enable breakthroughs in chip manufacturing.Role and responsibilitiesGenerate innovative ideas and solve complex optical and physics challenges, especially in high-power laser domains.Apply expertise in coatings, material sciences, and optical components to enable new technologies.Perform optical modeling and analysis using MATLAB and other tools.Act as a technical expert for optical challenges, collaborating across teams and disciplines.Building and improving strong relations with a variety of stakeholders (institutes, universities, suppliers and industry partners).Navigate technical uncertainty and adapt to evolving directions.Education and experiencePhD in Physics, Experimental Physics, Optics, Opto-mechatronics, or a related field.Background in high-power laser optics; experience in UV optics, plasma physics, or optomechanical design is a plus.1–2 years of experience in coatings, advanced optical design, and modeling.Proficiency in MATLAB; willingness to learn new modeling tools.SkillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.Ability to deliver results in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.Self-driven and adaptable to dynamic technical challenges.Other informationPlease submit a cover letter with your application!#BLEUVDEjobsInclusion and diversityASML is an Equal Opportunity Employer that values and respects the importance of a diverse and inclusive workforce.
