In this position, you will have a key role in advancing the engineering and integration of new technologies to align with Thermo Fisher Scientific's strategic IT goals. The role includes crafting and implementing creative solutions across a wide range of IT services, such as Data Centers, Servers, Storage, Virtualization, Messaging, Citrix, Cloud platforms, and Global Operations.Education/Experience:Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and relevant formal academic/vocational qualificationPrevious experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 8+ years).Major Job Responsibilities:Coordinate the assessment and recommendation of vendor hardware/software solutions; lead all aspects of installation and backup recovery processes.Lead capacity planning and budget forecasting for infrastructure needs.Serve as a technical lead within the Core Technology Group and other IT domains.Build and propose innovative technology solutions using emerging tools and platforms, present project proposals to IT leadership.Manage complex IT projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.Provide specialized support for systems, including troubleshooting, research, and handling outstanding customer requirements.Offer consulting and application support to other IT teams and initiatives.Mentor and guide junior team members.Coordinate and improve data center infrastructure, ensuring compliance with SOPs and internal standards.Lead operations for the Regional Data Warehouse (RDW) environment, ensuring efficient performance and reliability.Manage system performance, backups, disaster recovery, user access, and security protocols.Collaborate with collaborators for system upgrades and maintenance planning.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Extensive knowledge in a minimum of three of the subsequent fields: Windows/Linux Servers, Data Centers, Storage, Virtualization, Messaging, Citrix, Cloud platforms, and Global Operations.Robust project management and communication expertise.Proven ability to coach and mentor team members.Subject Matter Expert in system administration and infrastructure management.Proficient in troubleshooting across Windows, Linux, and storage environments.Excellent customer service and collaborator engagement skills.Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving capabilities.Knowledge of network protocols, security (TCP/IP, firewalls), monitoring tools, SIEM systems, VoIP, and wireless technologies.Expertise in diagnosing core problems and supervising broad infrastructure landscapes.Must Have skills:Windows/Linux server administrationData center and RDW operationsVirtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), storage (SAN/NAS)Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)Backup, disaster recovery, and performance monitoringNetwork protocols, firewalls, SIEMProject coordination and team supervisionIdentifying the underlying reasons for issues and troubleshooting across multiple platformsGood to have skills:Citrix, VoIP, wireless techEmerging tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform)Collaborator involvement and documentationConsulting and mentoring experienceWorking Hours:India: 05:30 PM to 02:30 AM ISTPhilippines: 08:00 PM to 05:00 AM PST
