Department of Education International (DEi) seeks a suitably qualified candidate for the temporary full-time position for Principal Advisor Office of the Executive Director, DEi, Strategic Policy and Intergovernmental Relations Division.DEi provides strategic leadership for the implementation of the Government's international education and policy, strategy and marketing activities in government schools.This opportunity will allow the successful applicant to lead and coordinate the provision of strategic information and advice to the Executive Director on effective strategies, processes and systems that support the portfolio and develop and manage operational policies and procedures.About The RoleAs a highly motivated professional you will lead and manage the day to day business operations of the Office of the Executive Director and will support the Executive Director and other senior officers of DEi with respect to coordinating Branch programs, projects and resources to ensure the effective development and implementation of strategic initiatives relating to international education.Your ResponsibilitiesThis position is required to manage the Office of the Executive Director DE International and provide ongoing advice and assistance to the ED DEi including but not limited to:Prepares and provides high level advice and support to the Executive Director and other senior officers of Department of Education International with respect to the state-wide implementation of strategic policy initiatives as they relate to state schooling including Australian government and whole of government initiatives, emerging initiatives and schooling policies and procedures.Manages and quality assures the preparation of high-level responses, reports, submissions, briefings and correspondence, as well as responses to the annual cycle of corporate strategic, budgeting and reporting requirements.Responds to and coordinates responses to complex and sensitive issues and complaints emanating from the Office of the Minister, Director-General, Deputy Director-General and other high-level sources.Monitors, analyses and evaluates activities and work practices within the Branch to ensure alignment with changing corporate goals and to inform future planning.Leads and manages staff to deliver outcomes consistent with organisational directives, encouraging commitment, professional growth and continuous improvement.Management and coordination of the business planning functions of the Office of the Executive Director and contribute to portfolio planning and reporting.Please refer to the attached role description for the full list of responsibilities and mandatory requirements for this position.Interested?
