We are looking for a Principal Biosecurity officer to join our high performing team in Invasive Plants and Animals: lead and supervise a team of biosecurity officers to achieve regional and state objectives Use specialist knowledge and skills to support complex investigations, advise stakeholders, and develop technical solutions to biosecurity problems. Invasive Plants and Animals (IPA) significantly affect the environment, agricultural production, infrastructure, human health and our way of life in general. The IPA program directs, facilitates and delivers strategic and targeted action to reduce the impact of invasive species in Queensland.
As our biosecurity officer, you will provide operational services that minimise the risks associated with invasive plants and animals in Queensland. With Queensland being affected by more biosecurity incursions than any other Australian state or territory, your efforts will be integral in helping the government prevent, respond to, and recover from biosecurity concerns that threaten our environment and economy.
