Job Description

Job PurposeTo deliver exceptional relationship management and holistic financial advice to a portfolio of high-net-worth clients and intermediaries, with a strong emphasis on client retention, acquisition, and revenue generation. The role operates within a closely regulated environment, specifically within the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), and in accordance with DFSA regulations, internal governance, and our client's high standards of service.The Private Banker will also provide leadership and supervision to the Dubai Private Banking team, supporting development, performance, and local compliance. They will be a key driver of client growth and reputation for our client in the DIFC and broader Middle East region, aligned with the 6Cs: Collaboration, Curiosity, Courage, Client Impact, Can-Do Attitude, and Completeness.Key Responsibilities· Act as primary relationship manager for a portfolio of high-value private and intermediary clients, ensuring delivery of exceptional service across banking, lending, investment, and fiduciary needs.· Operate fully in accordance with DIFC/DFSA regulatory standards, maintaining adherence to all compliance, conduct, and suitability requirements for clients based in or serviced from the UAE.· Generate sustainable revenue for the business through a combination of relationship deepening, cross-selling, and new client acquisition.· Maintain and actively grow an existing book of business with a strong pipeline and demonstrable revenue history.· Potentially deputise for the Head of Private Banking – Dubai as needed, including in leadership forums, management meetings, and operational oversight of the DIFC office.· Supervise and coach Private Bankers and Assistants, including conducting regular 1:1s, supporting development goals, and overseeing competency frameworks.· Undertake AML/CTF and suitability reviews for all clients within personal and team portfolios, aligned with DFSA expectations and our client's policies.· Collaborate with internal specialists (Jersey, London, and Isle of Man) to deliver cross-jurisdictional wealth solutions while ensuring DFSA-defined boundaries for advisory services are upheld.· Contribute to strategic and financial planning for the Dubai office, including input into budget targets and business development initiatives.· Actively promote our client within the DIFC and wider UAE region, through client events, professional networks, and industry engagements.· Travel to visit clients across the region where required, ensuring personal connectivity and the protection and growth of client relationships.· Maintain up-to-date regulatory knowledge and awareness of DIFC frameworks, international financial planning trends, and client expectations.Qualifications· Candidates must be professionally qualified and demonstrate technical and regulatory competence in line with both international and DFSA expectations:· RDR-compliant Level 6 Investment Qualification (e.g., CISI Chartered Wealth Manager, CII Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning, or equivalent)- Desirable.· Level 4 (minimum) Lending Qualification (e.g., CeMAP, DipFA with mortgage/lending module, or CertBB&C)· Maintains an active Statement of Professional Standing (SPS) and meets all CPD requirements in line with both home and DFSA-recognised standards· Ideally holds, or is working toward, Chartered status in a relevant financial disciplineTechnical Skills and Experience· Minimum 10 years' experience in wealth management or private banking with an emphasis on client acquisition, revenue generation, and relationship management· Demonstrable book of business with current client relationships suitable for onboarding under DFSA guidelines· Proven track record of delivering compliant, high-value solutions across investment, lending, fiduciary, and banking services to clients· Strong understanding of DIFC/DFSA regulatory framework, including conduct of business, AML, onboarding, and suitability rules· Team leadership experience with the ability to mentor junior bankers and contribute to the development of a performance-driven office culture· Technologically competent, including familiarity with CRM systems, onboarding tools, and digital client servicing solutionsBehavioural Competencies and Soft Skills· High levels of commercial awareness and business acumen· Ability to influence, negotiate, and deliver strategic value to sophisticated clients in international contexts· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with fluency in English (Arabic or another regional language is advantageous)· Self-motivated and results-driven, with a disciplined and proactive approach to business development· Leadership presence and ability to foster a strong compliance and client-first culture within a regulated environment· Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced, evolving DIFC marketplace
