Private Client CounselA highly regarded international law firm is seeking a Senior Associate or Counsel to join its leading Private Client & Trusts practice in the Cayman Islands. Commonwealth qualified lawyers with a minimum of 6 years post qualification experience, from both offshore and onshore backgrounds will be happily considered. This is a Private Client and Trusts department with ultra high net worth clients with multi jurisdictional exposure.

The RoleThis position offers exposure to complex and high-value work in a globally respected Private Client & Trusts team.
Advising on all aspects of non-contentious trusts and estates work, including drafting trusts, deeds, wills, and related advisory documentationProviding legal advice on commercial, pensions, and charitable trustsOffering guidance on powers of attorney, estate planning, and succession matters(Ideally) contributing to contentious trusts matters, although this is not essentialYou will uphold a senior position within the team and in addition to fee earning you will also berequired to support and mentor junior members of the team. You will work closely with the Partners in the team and be a support and driver when it comes to business development.
Requirements To be considered for this opportunity you must be a commonwealth qualified Private Client lawyer with a minimum 6 years’ post-qualification experience. Your experience to date should have been gained within a top tier onshore or offshore firm. You must have a wealth of non-contentious Trusts and Private Wealth experience, ideally with multi-jurisdictional exposure. Some contentious exposure is ideal but not an essential requirement. STEP qualification is preferred. Prior experience mentoring or supervising junior lawyers would be a distinct advantage. You must have natural leadership skills and be excited by the opportunity to develop junior fee earners.
