Job Summary And RequirementsThis is to fill one year term. Anticipatory Perm. The incumbent also acts as an agent of change in case managing the rehabilitation of offenders. The incumbent undertakes tasks germane to correctional best practices including, facilitating evidence-based programming, undertaking validated risk assessments, motivating offenders, and making referrals to other agencies and services to address offender’s criminal behaviour. Recognized and accredited post-secondary degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology or related discipline Experience supervising mandated clients; i.e. offenders, motivating resistant clients to modify behaviours Experience in offender case management; i.e. meeting clients and collateral interviews, risk assessments, case plans, court reports, progress reports and termination summaries Experience in cross-cultural, high needs, high risk environment Experience working with offender specific risk assessments in case management will be considered an asset Candidates who have education, training, and/or considerable experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.Desired Knowledge, Skills And SuitabilityCandidates should have and may be assessed on: Knowledge of the criminal justice system and correctional best practices Knowledge of risk/needs assessments in case management Knowledge of mental health, substance abuse and/or cognitive impairments Knowledge and/or training in individual and group facilitation Ability to case manage a diverse case load Ability to research and analyze information and write reports Ability to facilitate programming Ability to work independently and as a part of a team Ability to make sound decision and problem solve Ability to provide case management and supervision in a cross-cultural environment Knowledge of Yukon First Nations Ability to work with individuals who have experience trauma Additional InformationConditions of Employment: Security Clearance, including Vulnerable Sector Valid Yukon Class 5 driver’s licence Eligibility List12 months
