Our client is a fast-growing climate technology startup developing a next-generation Direct Air Capture (DAC) solution to remove CO₂ from the atmosphere efficiently and at scale.Based in Paris, the company is backed by leading international investors and partners in climate innovation.Process Engineer OverviewThis exciting start-up is now recruiting a Process Engineer to help design, optimise, and validate a novel DAC process. This position bridges R&D and engineering, combining experimental and simulation-based work (approx. 50/50 split).You will develop and validate process models, optimize energy and cost KPIs, and collaborate closely with the R&D team to translate experimental findings into scalable engineering designs.Process Engineer responsibilitiesDevelop and implement process simulation and optimization strategies using tools such as gPROMS, Aspen Plus, or similar.Validate process models against experimental and pilot data.Conduct lab-scale experiments to generate datasets for model validation and optimization.Collaborate with R&D to refine process parameters and improve performance.Prepare process documentation to support scale-up and pilot plant design.Process Engineer requirementsBackgroundMSc or PhD in chemical or process engineering.2–3 years of experience in process simulation and optimisation.Hands-on experience with CO₂ capture, electrochemical, or aqueous process systems preferred.Practical experience in experimental or pilot-scale environments.Skills & Mindset:Strong analytical and modelling skills.Comfortable building frameworks that connect experimentation with process modelling.Collaborative, proactive, and solutions-driven.Fluent in English; French is a plus.€Competitive + equityDAC/Process Engineering/Aspen/Hysys/Simulation
