Job Description

Job Objectives:The Procurement Engineer investigates the market with pre-defined specifications and performance testrequirements to facilitate procurement of parts and equipment. They will analyze technical and commercialdata and conduct thorough RFQ comparison between suppliers to achieve the optimal outcome for PSI. TheProcurement Engineer will issue orders, track and expedite deliveries, and help to develop the performanceof existing suppliers.Responsibilities and duties:Identifying all the requirements from requisitions issued by service, project or engineering departmentCreate and maintain request for quotations, with effective comparison between bidsTimely ordering of equipment, materials and systems complying to Quality, Budget and Specificationrequirements.Ensure timely tracking and expediting of all materials to ensure material availabilityEnsure suppliers are appropriately measured and developed to improve delivery performance, qualityand cost improvement.Measure and track Purchase Price Variance for key materials and commoditiesEnsuring that all procurement processes comply with the ISO Standards.Assist with contract negotiation for key suppliersProvide suppliers with key feedback including delivery performance, quality, average lead times, andcost variance.Drive cash flow improvement related to Payment Terms, Lead Times, Consignment stock andPurchase Price Improvement related to key suppliers.Develop and maintain good relationship with suppliers and subcontractors.Maintain company reputation & credibility by fair dealings.Manages the periodic reevaluation of suppliersPerform other related tasks as assigned by the immediate Supervisor/Manager.Accountabilities:Develop, implement and drive the procurement strategies in order to meet cost savings targets.Qualifications:Bachelors Degree in Engineering or any related course.Years of Experience:Minimum of 3 years in Industrial/Manufacturing FieldSkill Set: Experience in an engineering, procurement and operationsEffective verbal and written communication skillsProficiency with ERP systems and networkingAbility to analyze bills of material and drawings to understand key requirementsKnowledge and direct experience in negotiating contracts and quotations with ContractManufacturers and SuppliersAbility to identify cost reduction opportunities.Communication and Interaction:Internal: Staff, Supervisors, ManagersExternal: Suppliers
