Procurement Officer

Job PurposeEnsure that NMDC’s position is protected through an in-depth understanding of contractual, commercial, insurance and legal processes relating to contractsEnsure the achievement of NMDC’s projects commercial objectives by sourcing the most suitable economical major suppliers / subcontractorsPrincipal AccountabilitiesPrepare Bidders list from the vendors’ management system and/or in conjunction with the relevant departmentPerform due diligence for the prequalification of new vendorsLiaise with end user to define or refine the required scope; prepares RFQ/RFP documentsProvide market data to end users or other Departments in terms of product / service availability and pricingLead in the preparation of tender documents and bidding process for service providers, suppliers or subcontractors as required by the relevant end user including the understanding and incorporation of technical requirementsLead the subsequent commercial and technical evaluation of offers and leads the discussions and negotiations with the successful bidderPrepare a comprehensive technical and commercial evaluation report and subsequently a recommendation report in conjunction with the relevant departmentExpedite deliveries post-PO placementMonitor the execution of the order, coordinates with QHSE or relevant Department and escalates potential problems on timeProvide guidance and supervision to junior procurement staffEducational Qualifications and experience Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, or equivalentCertificationsCertification: CIPS (Chartered Institute for Purchasing and Supply) or equivalent certifications would be an advantage
