We’re partnering with a global leader in consumer products to hire a Product Development Engineer / Project Manager to join their Canadian engineering and product team. This role plays a key part in bringing new safety-focused, high-performance products to market and adapting global innovations for the North American market.If you enjoy taking designs from concept to validation — blending hands-on mechanical problem solving with project delivery — this could be a great fit.What You’ll DoLead engineering design updates and validation for new and existing consumer products.Execute CAD modifications, tooling reviews, and engineering documentation to meet performance and safety standards.Coordinate testing and validation (dynamic, static, structural) with global QA and lab teams.Collaborate with suppliers and overseas manufacturing partners to resolve technical issues and ensure build integrity.Manage project timelines, ensuring all validation, tooling, and certification deliverables are achieved.Serve as a technical liaison between Product, QA, and global engineering to ensure compliance and performance.Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance testing success and reduce rework.What We’re Looking ForMechanical or Product Development Engineer with 5+ years’ experience in consumer product or mechanical design.Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred) — capable of translating design intent into manufacturable, validated components.Solid understanding of dynamic and static testing, material performance, and failure analysis.Experience managing validation plans, prototypes, and supplier coordination.Backgrounds in automotive, sporting goods, outdoor gear, strollers, or other load-bearing mechanical products are highly relevant.Confident communicator who thrives in cross-functional, global environments.Willingness to travel internationally (2–3x per year) for factory trials and validation support.Why This Role Stands OutJoin a globally recognized brand with an engineering culture focused on safety, performance, and innovation.Work directly on a groundbreaking new product line that’s redefining its category in North America.Hybrid flexibility with international collaboration exposure.If you’re the kind of engineer who likes to see your work make a real-world impact — from CAD to crash test — we’d like to connect.
