Production Development Engineer

Are you experienced in developing production methods and tools to increase production efficiency? Woodio is a Finnish interior design brand with a mission to fight climate change. Our product range is made from our signature material called Woodio®. It is a fully waterproof wood composite that offers a low carbon alternative to ceramic sanitary ware and stone-based composites. All Woodio products are made in Lahti, Finland, at our brand-new state-of-the-art factory.  We are now looking for a technical Production Development Engineer to further develop our production process and take efficiency to the next level. We have a brand new, state-of-the-art factory in Lahti that was opened in May 2025. Now operations need to be further developed, in order to make sure we get the best out of the highly automated production process. Therefore, we are looking for a technically oriented Production Development Engineer, who loves solving technical challenges, speaks the language of molds and machines, and has the ability and drive to find clever solutions to increase efficiency. You will work as part of the production team, side-by-side with our production foreman and maintenance, making sure production lines run smoothly and without interruption. You strive for constant improvement and finding technical ways to make production run more efficiently. Our Ideal Candidate has strong technical skills and background e.g. in mechanical engineering. He/ she also: Has a relevant education: M.Sc. (Eng.), mechanical engineering, machine and equipment design. At least 5 years of work experience in manufacturing, design and product development tasks. Knows manufacturing techniques, especially plastic and metal parts and structures. Experience in injection molding is a plus. Has strong 3D CAD modeling skills (SolidWorks) and experience in creating manufacturing drawings.The ability to work both independently and in a team. Has excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think out-of-the box.A solution-oriented mindset and positive can-do attitude with capability to solve problems related to both technical functionality and automation of the production lines – sometimes even getting their hands dirty. Understands and implements Lean thinking, knowing the importance of excellent process flow. Is able to take Lean thinking into practise with technical solutions. Understands the importance of excellent quality and that customer satisfaction is a top priority.Is fluent in both Finnish and English.Your Main Responsibilities: Ownership of our production lines from a technical and automation perspective.Making sure the lines operate well without interruptions.Further developing the lines from technical and automation perspectives. Solving any day-to-day urgent topics in production, related to machines, molds and tools.Co-operating with maintenance to find the best short- and long-term solutions.Co-operating with the production foreman to guarantee smooth and reliable production.The position is full-time and based in Moukarikatu 13, Lahti, requiring daily presence on site.
