Production Foreman

Are you an experienced production supervisor with passion to successfully lead daily operations and cold-headedly solve small and bigger challenges that may come? Woodio is a Finnish interior design brand with a mission to fight climate change. Our product range is made from our signature material called Woodio®. It is a fully waterproof wood composite that offers a low carbon alternative to ceramic sanitary ware and stone-based composites. All Woodio products are made in Lahti, Finland, at our brand-new state-of-the-art factory.  We are now looking for a Production Foreman to take ownership of the daily operations of our recently opened factory in Lahti. You will work as the supervisor of our production team, currently consisting of 8 people, supporting them and helping them succeed in their daily tasks. You will take care of day-to-day problem solving, team leadership, production planning and purchase of raw materials. Our ideal candidate has a solid technical background and a service-minded and people-oriented attitude. He/ she alsoHas appr. 5 years of experience in production supervisor or production planning positions, with good knowledge of what it takes to build a good team spirit and help the team succeed.Implements Lean thinking and understands the importance of excellent process flow, being also able to take this thinking into practise through production planning, raw material purchases and daily production operations. Has experience in solving daily production challenges, from broken machines and missing tools to resource planning. Is technically oriented and can fix minor tool or machine-related challenges.Understands the importance of excellent quality, customer satisfaction being a top priority. Has a solution-oriented mindset combined with a positive can-do attitude. Is fluent in both Finnish and English. Experience in composites, wood products and the use of chemicals is considered an advantage.Your Main Responsibilities: Production planning to make sure our customers get what they have ordered – on time. Raw material purchases, with the target of never running out of what is needed yet maintaining optimal stock levels.  Leading the daily production operations. Acting as a supervisor for the production operators. Making sure production runs smoothly, closely collaborating with maintenance. The position is full-time and based in Moukarikatu 13, Lahti. The position requires daily presence on site.
