As a Production Incharge for Tanking and Final Assembly, you will lead operations for 400kV and 765kV/HVDC class transformers. You’ll be empowered to shape processes, enhance safety and quality, and contribute to the development of sustainable energy solutions.How You’ll Make An ImpactLead and manage final assembly operations including tanking, active part lowering, bushing assembly, oil filling, and testingEnsure timely execution of production schedules while maintaining high-quality standardsInterpret and implement engineering drawings, process documents, and work instructionsEnforce strict compliance with EHS policies and promote a zero-incident safety cultureConduct safety audits, toolbox talks, and risk assessments regularlyCollaborate with QA/QC teams to ensure quality compliance and drive corrective actionsLead and develop a team of technicians, supervisors, and contract workersIdentify skill gaps and implement training programs and multi-skilling initiativesDrive continuous improvement using Lean, 5S, and Kaizen methodologiesMonitor and report KPIs such as productivity, downtime, rework, and first-pass yieldLiving Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.Your backgroundB.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering12–15 years of experience in transformer manufacturing, with at least 7 years in 400kV or above class transformer assemblyStrong knowledge of transformer assembly processes including core, coil, tanking, and oil systemsProficient in reading mechanical and electrical drawingsExperience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skillsAbility to lead unionized teams and manage conflict effectivelyHitachi Energy is a global technology leader in electrification, powering a sustainable energy future through innovative power grid technologies with digital at the core.
