Professional Backend Developer - Java - Scala - Kafka - Data Systems - Fixed Income RiskThis role develops resilient, high-throughput data integration platforms that feed regulatory calculations to downstream systems in Fixed Income. You will ensure daily volumes of hundreds of gigabytes reach clients accurately, while meeting strict SLA and regulatory standards set by the FED, PRA, and BAFIN. The position also involves building complex regulatory scenario calculations for Market Risk.You will:Develop backend applications across the full lifecycle, from requirements gathering and solution design to coding, testing, and user support.Collaborate with business users to understand financial products and market concepts.Enhance legacy components and maintain systems using Java, Scala, Python, Kafka, and CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins.Focus on error-resilient data feeding, high-volume processing, and computational challenges, tailored to your skills and team needs.Essential qualifications:Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Proficient English communication.Solid Java or Scala experience with readiness to master the other.OOP design skills and interest in Functional Programming.Comfort enhancing existing codebases.Desirable qualifications:Experience with data- or computation-intensive applications.Knowledge of Spring or in-house frameworks.Familiarity with Git, Bitbucket, JIRA, and Scrum.Understanding of financial products.
