We encourage you to consider joining NCDOT where our work not only serves the citizens of North Carolina but has an impact on our world through all modes of transportation.Description of WorkThis is an anticipated vacancy*The primary purpose of this position is to service customers at the Raleigh Central Services office in the registering of their vehicles in the state of North Carolina. To perform this task, this position requires technical and administrative skills. This position must have an extensive knowledge of the General Statutes, policies, and procedures that govern the issuance of North Carolina titles as well as other credentials. Additionally, this position will issue official/special/personalized license plates, issue crash reports, and provide customers with the purchasing of their driving or vehicle registration records observing the Federal Privacy Act guidelines. This position accepts payments for driving license penalties and/or fees as well as other duties assigned by the manager as required for the functionality of the unit.The program area for this position includes one or more of the following: working knowledge of DMV general statutes, polices and procedures, and/or working knowledge of vehicle registration procedures.Knowledge Skills And Abilities/Management PreferencesSalary Grade NC08 Salary Range: $37,782 - $66,120Management prefers applicants with the followingExperience with a personal computer and mainframe database.Experience operating a calculator, workstation laser printer, fax machine & copier.Experience with recording, compiling, summarizing & analyzing data.Experience in title examining, reviewing information to determine compliance with applicable laws, rules, or regulations to resolve a complex or special processing matter.Experience in explaining & interpreting policies, regulations, & programs; and balancing a cash drawer.Minimum Education And ExperienceSome state job postings say you can qualify by an "equivalent combination of education and experience."
