Our work focuses on addressing the legal and mental health needs of this population; building strong partnerships and engaging in training and capacity strengthening with governments, NGOs, and the private sector; and advocating for systemic and pragmatic reforms to advance the rights of unaccompanied and separated children.Position SummaryKIND seeks a Program Coordinator to provide support for legal services programming in the provision of legal services to unaccompanied children facing removal proceedings. The Program Associate will provide nimble, savvy, high-level support to senior staff in a fast-paced and fluid setting. The Program Associate reports to the Managing Director.This position is contingent upon continued funding.Essential FunctionsOrganizes, coordinates, plans, and provides administrative support to the Managing Director including, travel and meeting coordination, compiling meeting agendas, recording, and synthesizing meeting minutes, and related support tasksAssists in the compilation and distribution of protocols, policies, and procedures for the Legal Programs TeamSupports in-house and pro bono training technical assistance by providing coordination, scheduling, and material development support which includes knowledge management of electronic files, indexing, and posting to make technical assistance materials fully accessible as well as assistance with preparing and finalizing presentationsWorks with Managing Director to provide support for in-house KIND programming eventsWorks in coordination with Managing Director on event planning including retreats (both virtual and in person)In close coordination with the Managing Director, assists in tracking and maintaining budget records and category spend-downServes as confidential assistant to the Managing Director, including engaging in a range of support activities, such as upkeep and maintenance of confidential documentsServes as a liaison to Operations and Human Resources components on select tasksContributes to special projects such as Legal Services Team wellness initiatives and other working groupsAssists with substantive programmatic work and periodic interim assistance to the field office, as neededAssists Managing Director and other Legal Services Team staff with project management supportReceives and refers phone calls from main office phone numberOther duties as assigned, including but not limited to administrative duties of the office, mail, supplies, and related tasksQualifications And RequirementsUndergraduate degree requiredFluent in English and Spanish preferred but not required (for direct communication with the children we serve and their caregivers, the majority of whom are Spanish speaking)Minimum of 1 year of experience with office organization or administrationMinimum of 1 year of experience working with legal databases, managing dockets, or leading projectsPrevious experience working with data management toolsExcellent written and oral communication skillsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (such as Teams, Excel, etc.)Ability to work collaboratively and multi-task in our KIND environment, managing numerous priorities and emerging opportunitiesExcellent organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects in a deadline-oriented environment; ability to prioritize tasks and delegate as appropriateAbility to multitask and work with a sense of urgency in a dynamic, fast-paced environmentCommitted to practicing and supporting wellbeing and a work-home life balance. Experience working and communicating in a remote environment preferred but not required.
