Job Description

Function: Under the direction and supervision of the Club Director, the Program Director will provide program guidance, implementation strategies and ensure organization deliverables are met. Responsible for overseeing the delivery of a broad range of programs within a designated Club, such as Education, Social Recreation, Arts & Crafts, and Physical Education. The Program Director is assigned to work with youth and teen programs as well as recruiting and maintaining attendance of youth and teens to participate in the programs managed. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES:

(not all-inclusive)Under the direction of the Club Director, this position is responsible for planning, developing, overseeing implementation, and supervising programs. Exercises Rigorous management and tracking requirements, including, but not limited to program implementation and delivery, daily attendance tracking, activity tracking by member, additional expense reconciliations, field trip coordination, specialty programs, reporting, and documentation, etcPromotes and stimulates program participation and provides guidance and role modeling to membersCompletes unit and lesson plans for programs and activities following the Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County standards as assignedThis position is responsible for all Youth Club Members’ Operations and staff.

Assumes appropriate responsibilities of the Club Director in their absenceManages full-time, Teen Program Manager and effectively oversees the work of up to twenty-four (24) part time direct reports by providing training, support, coaching and feedback, supervision, and guidanceMaintains high performance expectations for all team members that foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and innovationMonitors and approves all time keeping records for direct reports for bi-weekly payrollCollaborates and guides decisions in the hiring of direct reportsImplements tasks or project-specific directives from supervisorConducts inventory and oversees purchase of materialsParticipates in ongoing professional developmentMeets or exceeds all grant requirements and deadlines for grants restricted to ClubEnsures club meets and/or exceeds Average Daily Attendance goalsSupervisory Responsibilities and Reporting Relationships:

Position supervises the Teen Program Manager Position supervises all Program Specialists-YouthPosition is the second level supervisor for Program Specialists and other club teen staff. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: (not all inclusive)This position is an exempt, full-time role. The scheduled shift will be between 9: 00am – 7: 00pm School Year Program / 10: 00am-7: 00pm, Saturday programs/7: 00am – 6:

00pm Summer Program , and/or special eventsFour-year degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience5+ years of supervisory/management experience, or work experience planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people, or equivalent experience in youth delinquency and gang preventionAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Skills and energy to build a team and lead effective staff development and trainingExperience in evaluating all programs in collaboration with program staff. Demonstrated success in designing new youth and/or teen programs, facilitating experiential curriculum.

Demonstrated knowledge or ability to utilize and manage available technology to increase efficiency and productivity in the workplace, including member databaseAbility to train and encourage staff and members to use technology effectively and responsiblyExcellent interpersonal skills and willingness to provide a strong presence. Excellent prioritization and problem-solving skills. Strong organizational and conflict resolution skillsStrong communication skills, both verbal and writtenGroup leadership skills, including and understanding of group dynamics.

Demonstrated organizational, staff and management deliverablesKnowledge of the mission, objectives, policies, programs, and procedures of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County; and the principles and practices of non-profit organizationDemonstration of ability to communicate with different groupsDemonstrate ability to develop, implement, and train on program delivery modelPOSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Required to stand, walk, run, and sit. Able to use hands and fingers on a (computer) keyboard and other office equipment.
