Position Title: Program Lead, Wellness   Reports To: Manager, Programs and Community EngagementI. Scope and Summary of Primary ResponsibilitiesThe Program Lead, Wellness is responsible for leading and empowering a team of staff and volunteers to deliver CNIB's Wellness programs in their geography. The Program Lead is responsible for developing and implementing best practices within the program, while adhering to national program standards, to maximize positive experiences and outcomes for participants and volunteers.II. Essential FunctionsRecruit, train, engage and actively manage an integrated team of volunteers who are accountable for delivering Wellness programs.In collaboration with program volunteers, help coordinate program content and curriculum. Develop and implement best practices within these programs, while adhering to national program standards, to maximize positive experiences and outcomes for participants and volunteers.Constantly seek opportunities to improve service delivery metrics and participant outcomes, leveraging available evaluation data for the region.Keep abreast of best practices and new developments in programming for people who are blind and proactively bring forward ideas on how to improve this work. Build strong, positive relationships with program participants, and seek insight into their unique needs, goals and lived experiences.Proactively encourage program participants to take advantage of other CNIB programs and services that may benefit them, offering opportunities to expand their support network and deepen their community engagement.Ensure Diversity, Inclusion & Accessibility embedded in all CNIB programs.Help make CNIB the organization of choice for volunteers - promoting our commitment to volunteer engagement at every opportunity and developing the active volunteer base needed to support local operations. Lead by example in bringing our values to life - pushing the team to work with passion, determination, ambition, and a positive spirit to change people’s lives, and society itself. Ensure understanding of, and compliance with, all CNIB's policies and procedures.Act as a member of the Wellness group, comprised of peers from across the country, to share resources, challenges and successes and to develop and refine best practices in this program area.Collect outcome and evaluation data from program participants.Maintain data in client management system (Salesforce).Assist with the management program budgets.III. QualificationsKnowledge and Skill RequirementsProven success in leading and motivating teams of staff and volunteers.Proven project management and organization skills; amenable to changing priorities, deadlines, and procedures.Well-developed interpersonal skills, including excellent written and oral communication skills.  Demonstrated volunteer training and program facilitation experience.Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. And experience with Salesforce CRM system.Demonstrated maturity, sensitivity, and discretion, as well as emotional and social stability, when working with persons living with sight loss and other challenges.Passionate champion of diversity, accessibility, and inclusion issues.Leadership and mentoring skills. Creative and innovative problem-solving skills.Detail-oriented, highly organized.Excellent project and time management skills. Experience and EducationThree or more years of experience in volunteer management, including recruiting, onboarding, training, and stewardship.Three or more years of experience in program delivery in a charitable organization.Post-secondary education in relevant field or equivalent experience.  Personal or professional experience relating to blindness and sight loss is an asset.Work EnvironmentWillingness to work flexible hours.Willingness to work from different locations. Office-based, with regular presence in local CNIB Community Hub. Possibility of flex-place agreement for some work-from-home.Regular travel within the region.
