Program Manager – Federal Government | 12-Month Contract + ExtensionsLocation: Canberra, ACT (3 days per week on site)Clearance: Baseline security clearance preferred (must be eligible)Duration: 12 months with 12-month extensionsWe’re seeking an experienced Program Manager to provide strategic direction and oversight for a large, enterprise-level transformation program within a major Federal Government department. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in program delivery, stakeholder engagement, and organisational change within complex environments.About The RoleAs the Program Manager, you will be responsible for steering multiple concurrent projects, driving alignment across business and technical teams, and ensuring high-quality outcomes. Working under limited direction, you will contribute to strategic planning, risk management, and operational decision-making to support the department’s long-term digital objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic oversight and leadership across major program and project streams.Develop and maintain program documentation, schedules, and governance artefacts.Oversee program assurance, risk assessment, and monitoring activities.Facilitate workshops and stakeholder sessions across business and technical teams.Support policy proposal development and program budget management.Contribute to the design and implementation of sustainable operating models.Foster a positive, high-performance team culture and mentor staff to achieve key outcomes.Skills & ExperienceProven experience leading large-scale programs in complex or government environments.Strong program and project management skills, with a record of achieving strategic outcomes.Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.Sound judgement, initiative, and decision-making skills.Experience working with ERP or enterprise systems (knowledge of SAP is advantageous).Minimum 5 years of relevant program management experience (desirable).Why ApplyThis is an opportunity to make a lasting impact on a high-profile Federal Government initiative, working with talented teams to deliver meaningful digital transformation.
