The Yak Jones Foundation (YJF) is a registered non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting literacy and reviving the reading culture in Sierra Leone. Founded in 2015, the Foundation believes that “reading is the foundation for all learning.”Through reading competitions, book drives, school outreach, and community engagement, YJF works to make books accessible and inspire a lifelong love of reading among children. Guided by the motto “We read, you change lives,”the Foundation partners with schools, libraries, local councils, and development organisations to improve literacy outcomes nationwide.PurposeTo plan, coordinate, and manage all Yak Jones Foundation literacy and education programmes, ensuring quality implementation, financial accountability, measurable impact, and alignment with partnership commitments.Key Responsibilities;Programme ManagementDesign and execute literacy programmes, school outreach, and competitions.Develop annual and quarterly workplans and budgets.Manage day-to-day implementation and ensure programme targets are met.Supervise volunteers and community reading coaches.Lead programme-level partnerships with schools, libraries, local councils, and literacy clubs.Coordinate logistics and maintain strong working relationships with schools, libraries, community organisations and other partners.Monitor and evaluate programme outcomes, collecting data and success stories.Support proposal writing and donor reporting through programme inputs.Finance & OperationsMaintain transparent financial systems and records.Prepare budgets, expenditure reports, and reconciliations.Oversee procurement, logistics, and office administration.Support donor compliance and annual audits.Expected DeliverablesAnnual implementation plan and quarterly progress reports.Monitoring and evaluation data on programme outcomes.Documented impact stories and lessons learned.Updated volunteer and partner engagement tracker.Time CommitmentFull-time (40 hours per week).Submission Deadline: 30th November 2025Qualifications:Certification in project management, M&E, or non-profit administrationBachelor’s degree (minimum) in Education, English, Project Management, Development Studies, or a related discipline is an advantage.Experience:At least 2 years of experience in programme coordination, literacy or education projects, or NGO operations.Strong organisational, reporting, and financial management skills.Experience in supervising field teams or volunteers.Familiarity with reading promotion, school outreach, or community engagement initiatives.Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to prepare reports and success stories.Desired Competencies:Demonstrated commitment to children’s literacy and education.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and digital project tools.Fluency in English (Krio and local languages an added advantage).Please send your CV to info@yakjonesfoundation.org before the deadline.
