ARAI, Pune is a premier Automotive Research Institute, with the Ministry of Heavy Industries, involved in R&D, Homologation, Testing & Certification, Calibration & Skill Development services to Automotive and Allied industries globally.We are looking for the following position for our Environment Research Laboratory (ERL):Designation: Project Specific Research Engineer – I (Air Quality-01)-(ARAI Contract)-ERLLocation: Kothrud, PuneThe candidate should be M.E./M. Tech. in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science and Technology, Atmospheric Sciences or Equivalent from reputed University. A Ph. D. degree in above fields is desirable but not mandatory.Work Experience:A minimum of 3 years of experience (for M. Tech. candidates) and 1-2 years (for Ph.D. candidates) in the city-level/regional emission inventory development and air quality management field.Job description:Liasoning with different government departments and external agencies for data collection on demography, industries, meteorology, and air pollutionAnalyzing the data collected from field surveys using tools such as excel, python, R, QGIS, etc.Develop emissions inventory estimates for point, area, line, natural sources and other applicable pollutant sourcesRun dispersion models such as AERMOD/CALPUFF to ascertain the concentration of pollutants in a specific areas and locationsRun computer models (i.e. AERMOD) to ascertain the concentration of pollutants in a specific areas and locationsDevelop research papers and scientific reportsParticipate in meetings with stakeholdersPerform other related duties as requiredRequirementsKnowledge of CPCB, ARAI, AP-42, CARB, and/or other emissions inventory factors.Knowledge of air quality regulationsKnowledge of principles and practices of GIS, including data compilation and conversion, and database management systemsKnowledge of mathematical principles including algebra, geometry, and trigonometrySkill in developing, manipulating, and analyzing GIS data in a variety of data formats and projectionsSkill in interpreting and applying policies and procedures governing environmental controlSkill in analyzing and evaluating technical engineering data and complex computer dataAbility to maintain accurate and interrelated data records and identify and reconcile errorsAbility to follow and effectively communicate verbal and written instructions.This vacancy is purely on ARAI Contract for 01 year.Last Date of Application: 10th Nov 2025Directly apply on ARAI career site link: https://www.araiindia.com/pages/career-with-arai
