The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions is offering an exciting opportunity for 2 x PO5 Project Lawyers to join the dynamic Women’s Safety and Justice Project team. These 2 temporary full-time roles (from date of commencement until 31 January 2026, with possibility of extension) are perfect for a passionate legal professional who thrives on meaningful work, driving change, and contributing to transformative projects that enhance women's safety and justice in Queensland.

About Your OpportunityAs a Project Lawyer, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the critical work of implementing the Queensland Government's Women's Safety and Justice Taskforce recommendations as they relate to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).

You will contribute your legal expertise to the development of innovative project-based deliverables, both legal and non-legal, ensuring they align with the intended purpose of these recommendations. Take charge of designing project plans and schedules, while building robust evaluation and monitoring frameworks that deliver measurable and meaningful results. Tackle Complex Legal Challenges: Conduct in-depth legal reviews of criminal cases, focusing on critical issues such as domestic and family violence, coercive control, and sexual violence, while providing authoritative advice on criminal law and evidence. Deliver Powerful Insights: Develop detailed reports that combine critical analysis with bold, actionable recommendations to drive transformative outcomes. Forge Strong Partnerships: Build trusted relationships with Courts, legal professionals, victims and their families, and internal teams, fostering collaboration and shared purpose.

Cultivate strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including victim-survivors, while demonstrating trauma-informed practice and cultural capability. Mandatory RequirementsAdmission as a Legal Practitioner in a State or Territory of Australia (please provide your admission date).
