Job Description

A Project Management Intern partners with the Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) Project Management team to assist in the delivery of the project within the scope, schedule, budget, and design quality requirements. Intern will support drawing reviews to ensure high quality, well-coordinated design documentation that achieves the creative vision, cost objectives, and design standards.Additionally, the Intern will assist with coordinating the design and field installation of Disney produced items and the resolution of integration issues that arise during design and construction. Intern will be responsible for producing a variety of reports that communicate the status relative to defined plans, raising critical issues, and supporting the resolution of commercial issues that may arise. Good communication and collaboration skills are essential to this role.This role will be based onsite in Papenburg, Germany.ResponsibilitiesObtain a thorough understanding of project plans and standards, then support monitoring of progress to ensure compliance or identify any variations to plan.Contribute to a collaborative work environment and effective communications that support timely decisions.Partner with all departments and stakeholders to ensure on-going alignment and integration of plans for successful project delivery.Identify any variations from approved project scope and process through change management systemIdentify critical issues and support resolutionReporting as required to support Project ManagerSupport the PM team in transversal Project Management tasks (meeting minutes, tools, executive reporting) and in Design Management tasks (design reviews, design standards checks, document management).Specific OpportunitiesKey support person (“right hand person”) for the WDI Project Manager through the duration of internshipSupport problem solving by data collection, summarization and integration of partiesParticipate in project meetingsIdentify, monitor, and support mitigation of risks and realization of opportunitiesInterface with outside design consultants and ship yard related to scope of work progressPreparation of content for Project Manager and executive updatesGrow existing personal engagement, collaboration and leadership skillsBasic QualificationsDemonstration of management and leadership skillsCommitment to collaboration and positive working environmentProblem solving and understanding of team dynamicsCurious, learns quickly, self-starter, and good intuitionGood summarization and communication skillsMS Office fluent, including visual presentation and learns other software packages quicklyAttention to detail and ability to process large amounts of date accuratelyPreferred QualificationsAcademic or professional participation in projects or initiatives that developed or required leadership presenceRequired EducationCurrently enrolled as a Junior or higher, or graduated within the past 12 months, from an accredited college/university, earning a degree majoring in Design, Engineering, Architecture, or similar technical degree.
