Project Management Lead - Associate Director

Typical Accountabilities Provides technical leadership to either a regional group supporting technical delivery or as an expert advising on the project management process Leads the championing of new strategies for project management either as an expert or through project management Oversees or provides expert technical support to a regional team and potentially a global team Leads the governance process by ensuring projects follow both internal and external regulations Leads or oversees team initiatives ensuring that adequate resources are available for project delivery Develops and builds or acts a specialist expert in implementing and communicating new project management strategies Ensures that all work is carried out with regards to AstraZeneca standards and external regulations Represents AstraZeneca and its Scientific Project Management function at external events Networks with colleagues and experts to agree project management priorities , providing strategic advice based on analysis and project management consultancy serving as a resource for others by sharing experience within and beyond project team and own function Ensures efficient and effective leadership and management of project information, quality of data and projection, and integrity of information supplied Keeps self and others up to date on recent developments and emerging trends on an internal and external basisTypical People Management Responsibility (direct / Indirect Reports) Approximate number of people managed in total (all levels) - 15-30 Manager of a teamWhat is the global remit? (how many countries will the role operate in?): Own countryEducation, Qualifications, Skills And Experience Essential: Bachelor’s of Science in an appropriate discipline; Extensive experience in Scientific Project Management within a pharmaceutical or clinical background; Thorough knowledge of Study Management processes and local regulations; Evidence of excellent communication skills and building excellent relationships with Desirable: Advanced degree in a scientific discipline; Expert reputation within the business and industry; Extensive knowledge of the latest technical and regulatory expectationsKey Relationship To Reach Solutions Internal (to AZ or team): Senior Management within Scientific Project Management Other AstraZeneca employees External (to AZ): External service providers and regulatory bodies
