Funded through FEMA and in partnership with the U.S. Virgin Islands Office of Disaster Recovery, this project will create resilient, future-ready educational spaces – from innovative classrooms to gyms designed as hurricane shelters – giving our team the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the community.Position SummaryThe Project Manager’s main responsibility is to provide management for all phases of the construction project, including coordinating workers, material, and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. This position is based in St. Thomas, USVI.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesResponsible to provide overall technical direction for the projectResponsibility to conduct or assist with pre-construction meetings prior to the beginning of the projectSupervise and direct field staff including inspectors, engineers, construction materials testers, and administrative personnelSelect and coordinate work of subcontractor hired to work on various phases of the project, while following and adjusting their work progressProcess monthly payment requestsLead the construction team through the duration of construction, testing, and commissioning of the projectTracks and control construction schedule and associated costs to achieve completion of project within time and budgetEnsure maintenance of official project log and documentation filesEnsure implementation/interpretation of safety programs according to company’s strict standardsPlan and schedule staff activities accordinglyParticipate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, costs, scheduling, and performanceEnsure all construction is in compliance with design specificationsReport to Client and Architects about progress and any necessary modifications of plansQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field of studyCandidate must have at least 15 years or more of experience assisting or supervising construction projectsAbility to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people who need to cooperate to achieve maximum efficiencyExperience in several construction trades and designAdvanced knowledge of cost controlMust be proficient in Procore, BIM, Scheduling, and Cost EstimatingEnglish mandatoryAmericaribe LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer
