Project Manager

Role purpose:We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the implementation of a new Defence Commercial Framework (DCF), ensuring delivery across key work streams and alignment with governance, risk, and stakeholder requirements.The DCF implementation is organised into four work streams:Project ManagementChange & Communications ManagementContent DevelopmentTechnical Design & ImplementationThis role focuses on Work Stream 1.Key Responsibilities:The Stream 1 Project Manager holds overall responsibility for delivering the new DCF under this contract. It encompasses the development and execution of a comprehensive Project Management Plan (PMP), governance oversight, risk management, and coordination of all project activities.Project Management Plan and ImplementationDevelop and deliver a Project Management Plan (PMP) as the roadmap for implementationAlign PMP with governance structures and agreed schedules for other work streamsPresent PMP for approval and ensure communication, accountability, and risk identificationLead and coordinate the Project Implementation TeamMaintain and update project schedules; report progress against baselineGovernance & ReportingEstablish and manage governance mechanisms across all work streamsDevelop and implement a RACI matrix to clarify roles and decision-makingProvide regular status reports, track milestones, and escalate decisions as requiredFacilitate stakeholder collaboration and ensure transparency throughout the project lifecycleRisk & Issue ManagementMaintain a Risk and Issue RegisterIdentify, assess, and mitigate risks proactivelyImplement contingency strategies and escalate critical risks promptlyEssential Experience and/or Qualifications:Demonstrated 10+ years experience managing major Defence projectsProven ability to lead project teams and manage competing priorities effectivelyExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skillsStrong knowledge of governance frameworks, risk management, and reporting processesNegative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearanceApply now or reach out to the CAPDA Consulting team for more information.*Rate range is based on DSS level and level of individual’s experience.
