You have the chance to become part of our international, diverse team of purpose-driven individuals at an organisation that hosts one of the world's most important maritime events.We are looking for a Project Manager (permanent full-time position, preferably starting ASAP in Q1 2026) to help us progress the decarbonisation agenda for the maritime industry as part of the Industry Action team.About the roleWe are looking for a Project Manager to join the Industry Action team within our Decarbonisation department. The team manages different industry working groups to conceptualise and implement shipping decarbonisation pilots and remove barriers to scaled uptake. These pilots cover different segments and cargo types of the shipping value chain but also ports from across a diversity of regions from around the globe.This permanent position will begin as a parental leave cover (approximately six to nine months) focused on advancing the Global Maritime Forum’s initiative to improve the operational efficiency of shipping and activate a port call optimisation pilot and the dissemination of its outputs. Following this initial phase, the role will transition to support a broader set of areas of the decarbonisation agenda within the Industry Action team, from helping to facilitate green corridor initiatives to working with infrastructure developments in the Global South. The specific focus of this second phase will be defined in response to team needs and opportunities for impact.Your tasks will include:Convening and coordinating working groups: being the primary point of contact with project partners and industry representatives at both working and management levels;Driving and co-creating outcomes through these working groups: identifying opportunities, finding creative ways around bottlenecks, guiding stakeholders towards solutions, project managing timelines and commitments;Contributing to writing reports and analytical pieces based on a synthesis of stakeholder input or desk-based research;Creating new opportunities for engagements and convenings with industry, mobilising other colleagues as needed;Staying informed of relevant developments, organising and attending internal and external events (virtual & in-person), and liaising with other teams and external partners on joint opportunities.About youYou are a highly driven self-starter with an innovative and flexible mindset.You have a maritime related background and either possess experience working on energy efficiency or operational efficiency initiatives (preferably pilots) with industry.It will be an advantage for this position if you have specific experience of operational efficiency in shipping (port call optimisation, just-in-time arrival, virtual notice of readiness) or background in the shipping sector with broad knowledge of how the maritime value chain is connected.You are familiar with climate mitigation options and comfortable working with analytical material related to technology, economics, and innovation.You have excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability in building or managing collaborative processes that balance the needs of individual parties with overall outcomes.You are quick to familiarise yourself with new topics and can synthesise and communicate complex information in a clear way to a variety of audiences.You are creative and curious, and thrive in interdisciplinary, multicultural environments.You have great organisational skills and can adapt to rapidly changing priorities.You possess good (English) writing and speaking skills.Success in this role will be defined by maintaining momentum and quality of delivery during the cover period, and then contributing to the design and implementation of new initiatives aligned with Global Maritime Forum’s decarbonisation strategy.Required skills and qualificationsAdvanced proficiency in written and spoken English. The position is a full-time permanent position.The Global Maritime Forum is headquartered in Copenhagen.The position is permanent full-time with a weekly working time of 37.5 hours. The expected start date is as early as possible in Q1 2026. The salary range for the position will be 40,000-49,000 DKK per month, depending on your qualifications and experience level.The duty station is our Copenhagen office with the possibility to work remote/from home as per agreement with your manager.
