The Project Manager leads, directs, and exercises functional authority over all project aspects, including planning, organizing, budgeting, and reporting. Do: Process and Procedures:Support and develop project management procedures, tools and templates, and checklists to enhance and improve project effectiveness and reporting capabilitiesManage projects and project teams in accordance with all applicable proceduresTeamwork & Collaboration:Collaborate with sales, customers, management, engineering, procurement, and fabrication teams to execute projects with a high level of customer service, efficiency, and flexibility.Support, coordinate and direct multi-disciplined project teams and any sub-contracted tradesBe a role model and mentor for CoordinatorsRisk Management:Identify and assess any potential and/or realized project risks, specific to cost, schedule and qualityAnalyze data and trends throughout the project execution phase to proactively detect risks, threats and/or opportunitiesDevelop and implement a comprehensive Risk Mitigation Plan through collaboration with Project Team Members, Management and StakeholdersCommunicate Risk Mitigation Plan, including status updates, to the Project Team, Management, and Sales & ApplicationsAssist in mitigation efforts, and drive resolution to ensure optimal project performanceCustomer Management:Act as the lead customer interface and advocate, provide regular and clear communication on project plans, issues, changes, and statusStrong client-focused approach, dedicated to providing exceptional client experiences and maximum customer satisfactionWork with the Customer Account Manager to proactively manage customer concerns, escalating to management when requiredChange Management:Implement and manage changes when necessary to meet project outputs, communicating any changes to the Project Team Project Scope for both internal and customer driven changesEnsure Change Order Requests (CORs) for all customer requested changes are submitted, approved, and only executed after receipt or customer agreement and/or purchase orderAdherence to the Project Lifecycle:1.     Pre-Award (Quotation) Phase:·        Assist Sales & Applications with new projects and quotations, including reviewing the Sales Risk Assessment and PM labour estimates·        Assist Sales & Applications with customer interaction during quotation phase·        Prepare initial high-level project schedule, estimating timing for key milestones2.     Initiation/Kick-Off Phase:·        Review Project Details from Sales Quotation phase, including Commercial details, Quote, Customer PO, Project Costing and Budget, Specifications and Requirements, Scope of Work·        Prepare a Preliminary Project Schedule·        Conduct Sales Turnover, Internal Kick-off, and Customer Kick-off meetings to review all Project Details with management, project teams, stakeholders, and customer·        Setup Project SharePoint Site, Folders, and templates3.     Planning Phase:·        Develop the Project Plan, including defining project scope and goals, work breakdown structure, tasks, and deliverables with precision·        Develop suitable budget allocations for labour and materials·        Create a detailed and baselined project schedule, identify all critical path tasks, and obtain full commitment from all stakeholders·        Responsible for ensuring that each project has sufficient and optimal resources allocated to meet the project schedule, negotiating and collaborating with department and project leads·        Identify, initiate, and secure any required third-party resources and sub-contractors4.     Execution, Monitor & Control:·        Conduct regular reviews of project cost accruals and variances, forecasts, project schedules, risks, and commercial milestones·        Track and trend project performance utilizing tools (MS Excel, schedule tools, ERP system)·        Responsible for the financial performance of projects, ensuring adherence to project budgets, meeting or exceeding profitability goals and targets·        Ensure projects adhere to all quality guidelines, documenting all issues with action plans, and reporting deficiencies and progress to Project Directors and key stakeholders·        Coordinate onsite safety compliance requirements and scope of work is delivered to all applicable codes and standards·        Conduct regular project team meetings and issue weekly status updates to project team·        Track progress of all technical and commercial deliverables of multiple projects·        Collaborate with the Project Team, including engineering technical leads, procurement, and fabrication to manage day-to-day scheduling, review timing, and forecast remaining effort·        Navigate competing priorities from project teams and department managers, maintaining a solutions-focused approach·        Direct the Project Teams to execute projects consistently·        Ensure scope of work and all key project deliverables are accomplished, with supporting documentation·        Obtain necessary customer approvals (including FAT, SAT, and Final Acceptance) are completed to enable commercial payment milestones and project closure·        Monitor and report on project progress to key stakeholders·        Ensure all billing and invoicing are submitted on time·        Ensure timeliness of invoicing by ensuring that time sheets and service reports are timely and accurate5.     Project Closeout:·        Ensure all Final billing and invoices are submitted on time·        Completes Lessons Learned, requesting feedback from the project team, reviewing final budget performance, communicating and tracking all opportunities for improvementNote: The key accountabilities are not an exhaustive list and other duties may be assigned as needed.  What You Bring: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant field of study preferredRequirements:5+ years’ experience managing multiple simultaneous engineering and technical based projects5+ years’ experience in a leadership role, managing multidisciplinary teamsMust be able to manage medium-large-sized projects with mid-high-level complexityProject Management Professional (PMP) certification is considered an asset. Must have completed formal PM training and at least be in the process of achieving the PMP designation.Experience organizing multi-discipline sub tradesProficiency with schedules, workflows and Gantt charts, MS Excel, ERP Systems, and PM software tools requiredKnowledge of engineering drawings, language & documentation is an assetExperience
