Project Manager

【Position Outline】As a project manager, you will have the responsibility to plan and oversee the projects for Rakuten PointClub web and related products. You will join daily huddle, participate in both project management and development team activities, and lead the projects for the releases efficiently. Also, you will support a product manager to update a product roadmap and plan tasks to achieve an upcoming team goal.【Responsibilities】- Determine and define project scope and objectives- Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner- Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan based on priorities provided by product managers- Break down tasks with an understanding of features and architecture- Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress- Negotiate with stakeholders to resolve various issues and conflicts- Analyze project risks and define countermeasures to mitigate them- Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution- Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed- Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement- Be a role model to the team members when it comes to ownership, proactivity and taking responsibility- Handle organizational tasks to support the section- Production support- Troubleshooting of service in the trouble【Required Skills】- Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in computer science, engineering, or related field.- 3 years’ experience in project management- Warm personality with excellent communication skills.- Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle.- Experience working directly with software engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders.- Strong familiarity with project management software tools, agile methodologies (preferably Scrum and Kanban), and best practices.- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.- Experience in working in cross-cultural development teams- Knowledge of IT systems【Desired Skills】- Advanced Degree (MS or Ph.D.)- 3 years’ experience in software engineering or in a related field- 3 years’ experience in PMO or in a related field- Experience working on multiple products/projects in parallel- Experience in working as a Web service system developer- Experience in releasing and maintaining a live internet service- Experience in creating technical documents (e.g. API Specifications, DB Relationship Diagram, Architectural Design)- Experience with modern project management tools, preferably JIRA/Confluence- Experience in working with cross-cultural global teams in different locations- Japanese skills: Basic reading and writing【English level】Business level (ex: TOEIC 800 or higher)
