TowerPinkster, an innovative architecture, engineering, and interior design firm based in the Midwest with offices in Michigan, Indiana, and Kentucky, is looking for a talented Project Manager. Project Managers oversee projects from the conception stage through construction and completion of the project, making sure the project meets design requirements, schedule, contractual obligations, and budget goals. This includes understanding the scope of work, planning the work, organizing the team, leading the team, and controlling the project. The main responsibilities are project profitability, client satisfaction, and business development. This position is in Kalamazoo, Michigan, or Grand Rapids, Michigan.POSITION EXPECTATIONS + RESPONSIBILITIESCollaborate with the Principal on fee proposals, fee negotiations, and project team selectionAssist in the development of fees based on task, market, staffing, and unit costAssist in proposal development, including determining project fees, team selection, scope definition, schedule, contracts, and interviewsCollaborate with the Principal to prepare the contract. Collaborate on design presentations and reviewsCollaborate with the design team on technical decisionsCoordinate outside consultants with the owner and project team, including consultant selection, fee negotiation, invoice review, and communicationsProvide expertise in contractual negotiations and production meetingsCreate a Project Management Plan, from project conception to completionManage project scope relative to contractTrack changes in scope, schedule, and budgetConduct effective meetings, including agenda, meeting minutes, and progress reportsObserve project performance and coordinate workload throughout the entire project. Monitor the project for performance to profit and schedule goalsPartner with the Principal regarding negotiating additional service fees from clients as they request changes to the project scopeMay, depending on the project scope, conduct construction site visits to monitor progress. Promote a positive work culture by leading by example and supporting TowerPinkster LeadershipCLIENTPerform business development functions, including marketing, and networking to create personal connections and involvement in professional organizationsParticipate in the process of interviewing prospective new clients to understand their needsCollaborate with the client in planning design, determining solutions and scope of the project to develop electrical system plans to meet client needsConstruct the scope of work and determine a budgetMENTORSHIPIn partnership with the Manager and Supervisors, coordinate training and instruction for team members Lead, teach, and guide other project team members to assist in their growth and development in the home officeLEADERSHIPMonitor Quality Control of documents and projectsParticipate in organizations and other outside work activities to promote TowerPinkster and develop relationships for long-term talent selection. All other job duties as apparent or assignedPOSITION QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in the architecture profession, master’s degree with AIA License preferredTen plus years of experience in the architectural profession and project managementWell-rounded knowledge of the architecture profession and workflowKnowledge of building components, construction materials, standards, and codesBusiness management knowledge preferredExperience in construction administration or knowledge of construction practicesREVIT experience/AutoCAD software knowledge preferredWhat We OfferWe take a holistic approach to ensure the wellbeing of our team members.
