Proposals Engineer

In this role, you’ll be at the front end of our automation projects — engaging with customers, developing technical solutions, preparing detailed proposals and ensuring our systems are perfectly matched to client needs.This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical expertise with communication and commercial awareness. You’ll work closely with our controls, software and mechanical engineering teams to translate customer requirements into creative, practical automation solutions.Key responsibilitiesEngage with customers to understand project requirements, challenges and objectives.Develop technical concepts and system proposals for bespoke automation and control solutions.Prepare quotations, tender documents and detailed bid responses, ensuring technical accuracy and commercial clarity.Use manufacturer tools such as Siemens TIA Selection Tool, Bosch Rexroth Sizing, Rockwell ProposalWorks, ABB DriveSize and Danfoss DrivePro to specify and select suitable hardware and software solutions.Collaborate with engineering, software and controls teams to define system architecture, scope of supply and estimated delivery times.Create technical and commercial documentation to support bids and presentations.Support cost estimation, risk assessment and value engineering during the proposal process.Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers and partners.Contribute to continuous improvement of proposal processes and tools.About youWe know that not everyone meets every requirement, and that’s okay. If you meet most of the criteria and you’re enthusiastic about the role, we’d still love to hear from you.Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automation or a related engineering discipline.Experience in industrial automation, control systems, drives and robotics.Familiarity with tools and platforms such as Siemens TIA Portal and TIA Selection Tool, Bosch Rexroth IndraWorks, Rockwell Studio 5000, ABB and Danfoss configuration suites.Excellent communication and technical writing skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly.Confident using tools such as Microsoft Office, AutoCAD or EPLAN (advantageous).Organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple proposals simultaneously.Commercial awareness and interest in developing client-focused solutions.Collaborative approach to working with multidisciplinary teams.What we offerAt Transicon, you’ll join a friendly, inclusive and innovative engineering environment where everyone’s ideas are valued.
